Holistic health care embraces health through a complete view of life and all that we are. Dr. Tim takes this complete view to consider every angle of what may create imbalance with an individual’s health. His training as a chiropractor gave him the philosophical base on which to build a holistic model of care. From this base, he continued to pursue additional training until he had a complete system to offer his clients. As a result, his work stands as a unique example of what is possible when we access and release the power within. Using natural healing methods and his holistic approach, he has helped thousands of individuals with concerns that range through the entire spectrum of illness.
“The power that made the body is the power that heals the body. ” – B. J. Palmer, D.C.
Even though the phrase “holistic doctor” is the best label to describe Dr. Tim’s work, it invites more questions. There is no defined degree or course of unified training to become a holistic doctor. The phrase “holistic doctor” does not have a clear meaning even though most have some idea of what it suggests. As a result, Dr. Tim found his own way through alternative health care since he felt there was no single training that encompassed all he desired. It is clear when you experience his work that he is much more than a typical chiropractor. He has similarities to a naturopath, has qualities from traditional Chinese medicine, and also comes across like a psychotherapist. Yet none of these labels capture the full scope of his work since he reaches into many disciplines.
The reason for this eclectic approach stems from the fact that he simply wanted to be as comprehensive and holistic as possible. After deciding that chiropractic was the best place to start, he had his first taste of expanding his scope when he studied Applied Kinesiology (AK). Applied Kinesiology is a chiropractic technique that uses muscle testing as a way of accessing the intelligence of the body. Dr. George Goodheart founded this technique in the 1960’s after observing a muscle that was testing to be weak, strengthened when he rubbed some spots on a client’s ribs. He used this method of checking for strong and weak muscles to develop healing tools that span into many fields such as nutrition, meridian therapy (from traditional Chinese medicine), cranial adjusting, and others. Dr. Tim continued his study with techniques such as Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET), which addresses emotional stress, and Total Body Modification (TBM), which added more tools and helped free him from the restrictions of protocols and techniques. He was then able to study any health field and find the gems to incorporate into his work.
“His desire to become as holistic as possible took him into many fields.”
Dr. Tim’s work focuses on using a variety of tools to address the underlying causes to health concerns. He uses energetic, clearing corrections that stimulate the body to release toxins, allergies, infections, emotional blocks, and more. He will also recommend nutritional and herbal programs that restore organ function and proper nutrient levels in the body. As mentioned here, the chiropractic adjustments enhance and integrate the function of the nervous system so that the body can heal from within. All of this is supported by lifestyle changes, strengthening, and stretching routines that enhance life and promote healing. When valuable, Dr. Tim may also explore the deeper meaning and hidden lessons behind our health concerns. This approach touches on the spiritual implications of our concerns but is not always necessary. For example, when exploring questions such as, “Why does your foot hurt and not your stomach?” or, “Why now and not last year?”, the answers explain the entire picture of the client’s concern, life, and reason why it all exists.
